IN CHRIST

(Philippians 4:13) “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”

I have seen this verse used in so many ways, and some even use it as a crutch. But do we ever really think of the word “Christian”, and what it truly means? The root word here is "Christ", therefore the meaning is "Christ like". Pretty sobering thought to me, because I have to ask myself how much am I Christ like?

Something else to consider as a Christian is do we ever realize all that we have in Christ? Years ago, I did a study on this thought, "in Christ”, and it got me all excited! Did you know that "in Christ" is mentioned 77 times in the Bible. With that being said, did you know that 7 is the number for perfection? So that tells me all that I have "in Christ" as a Christian is doubly perfect for me. Wowser!

So let me challenge you Christian to find out all that you have "in Christ". It might just give our text a greater meaning to you. Also, it might just get you excited about being a child of God!
