Online Media Helps
Why Use Social Media Platforms for Ministry?
With the advent of modern technology and the fast-paced lifestyles of today, most people are less likely to visit a church simply based on the information they receive through a website or through word-of-mouth. Social media acts as a window into a church allowing prospective guests to interact with the faithful before their first visit. Social media allows instantaneous communication from the church to its followers, including special events and updates. Also, according to the Pew Research Center, 74% of online adults use some form of social media.
While there are many social media platforms to choose from, Facebook, according to the Pew Research Center, has a whopping 71% of all online adults users! We live in a day and age where we can use social media as a tool to reach the lost for Christ and fulfill Acts 1:8 “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”

Hello
My name is Christopher Burford
Mission
It is my mission to come along with other like-minded churches to assist them in using Facebook and to train their staff to eventually operate their page on their own.
Testimony
I trusted the Lord in my salvation when I was thirteen. Before then, I knew there was a God, however, it was head-knowledge only. I had believed that if I didn't do any of the "bad sins" eventually I would be admitted into Heaven. At the age of twelve, I read the 'Left Behind' series. This was the first time my beliefs were challenged. However, I did not accept Christ until a year after, when someone showed me that I needed to call upon the name of the Lord to be saved. I began working on a bus route, singing in the choir and was active in the youth ministry. However, at the age of seventeen, I grew prideful of my Christianity and began to backslide. It began inwardly.
Then in 2008, the Lord moved me out of my comfort zone to Texas. I knew that I had sinned against Almighty God and I needed to repent and forsake my sinful ways. I knew first and foremost that I needed to be in church. I have been attending Calvary Baptist Church until June 2016 when I moved to Wichita Falls, Texas. I am currently a member of Victory Baptist Church in Wichita Falls as the Online Ministry Director.
